The filmed ending is one of my favourite endings, whenever I see the movie I end up feeling the tension and a strange feeling of paranoia, I think the original ending would have somehow destroy an this feeling, of course solely based on the video description.
The fact that it ends with the slow and frightened walk from the house to the car contains a lot of tension and the birds show their power and control, they don’t run away but the birds allow them to leave. Anyway, I would still like to watch the original ending filmed.
